Rizal Park will officially start the Christmas season through its annual project Merry Treats: Mascots and Costume Players on Parade in partnership with the Philippine National Police, this Sunday, December 11, 2016 at the Central Section Rizal Park, Manila.
This year’s grand parade highlights the 2016 Pinoy Mania featuring the latest and hottest craze, starring anime, manga, Pokemon, Pinoy characters and organizations represented by their amusing mascots. Catch Santa Claus, Tsip Bato, Gespie, Chef Lots’a, Duty Free Philippines‘ Mommy and Brother Shopping bag mascots, Nayong Pilipino‘s Haw Haw and Twit Twit, and many more. The parade will also joined by the Bandazamora Pandacanmanila, More Than Dance School of Ballet under the tutelage of Ms. Abigail Alvia, GIRL SCOUTS OF THE PHILIPPINES and NPDC employees. After the parade, park goers are also encouraged to watch the CONCERT AT THE PARK featuring the More Dance School of Ballet, Andres Bonifacio Elementary School, Tatay Digong and the Adiks Puppet Show and the Philippine National Police Combo.
People can enjoy a day of fun and free entertainment starting at 2:00 p.m., with a variety of pocket activities such as face painting, bubble show, balloon twisting and more.
Merry Treats is an annual event organized by the National Parks Development Committee. It started in 2011 as Mascorade: Mascots on Parade. Merry Treats is now on its 6th year!
